Bridges

Bridges

If you have missing teeth in your mouth, a dental bridge helps to fill in the empty space. A bridge is a prosthetic piece that is cemented onto your existing natural teeth (or implants) surrounding the missing teeth. A bridge may be indicated if you have one or more missing teeth. Having missing teeth can cause the other nearby teeth to shift. Even though bridges help to improve the look of your smile, they also provide many other benefits. Bridges can help you speak and chew properly, distribute your bite, and prevent your existing teeth from shifting out of their correct position.

What can I expect?

Bridges-thumbA bridge is provided over the course of two visits at our dental office in Encino. The anchor teeth are slightly modified in a minimally-invasive method in order to work as anchors for the bridge to keep it secure. We take an impression of your teeth to provide the perfect custom made mold for the bridge. Porcelain and ceramic materials are used so that we can accurately match the bridge to the color of your natural teeth. During the first visit, you receive a temporary bridge to have in place while the permanent bridge is being made in one of our high quality and skilled laboratories. During the second visit, your permanent bridge is cemented to the natural teeth or implants on either side of the empty space.
