If you have wrinkles due to aging, consider injections of Xeomin® to help temporarily reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Xeomin®, also known as incobotulinumtoxinA, is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of moderate to severe frown lines that form between the eyebrows. Thousands of patients have been treated with Xeomin® injections.
How does it work?
Xeomin® works by blocking the release of chemicals that cause muscle contractions. The muscle contractions are what contribute to frown lines, which develop as a result of repeated facial expressions over the years. An injection of Xeomin® softens the frown lines. It can also be used for crow’s feet and wrinkles on the forehead.
A Xeomin® injection contains no additives and does not need to be refrigerated prior to use, making it a wrinkle injection treatment that is simple to use. The lack of additives also means that patients have less chance of developing antibodies as a response to the neurotoxin (which can reduce desirable effects).
What can I expect?
The effects of Xeomin® are visible after just one week and can last from three to six months. It is comparable to Botox® when it comes to effectiveness, lasting effects, and cost. However, only one of these types of injections should be used at one time. They are not meant to be used interchangeably.
Possible side effects of Xeomin® include bruising and bleeding at the site of the injection. It is also possible to experience an allergic reaction to the injection. We will inform you of all possible side effects and give you an idea of what to look for.
